and so it goes
Today was fun. Felt kinda like Christmas. Or maybe just a nice day full of gentle reminders that life is good.
I had a $100 gift certificate that I used toward purchasing a new living room rug. It should be delivered in a week or so.
I also bought a Keurig Mini coffee brewer and had fun deciding what type of coffee to have. I chose the Hazelnut! I had to buy a bunch of K-cups to go with it! I think this is gonna bring about lots of pleasure for me and visitors!
I'm not a big spender. Often I take a long time before deciding to purchase something. I can talk myself into and then out of things faster than one would think humanly possible. Usually I don't have regrets afterwards though.
I went for the mail and got my Birchbox. If you don't know what this is check it out. It's like getting a special surprise gift in the mail every month. Along with that my mom sent me a package that arrived full of treats that only a mom who knows and loves her daughter could send. (You found that clock Mom! Fun! Thank you!) She also included some homemade cookies which was wonderfully kind I think ... or kind of mean depending on how you look at it! I thought I RID MY HOME of Christmas cookies! She does make the very BEST snowball cookies ever though, so I immediately ate one with my Hazelnut coffee! Mmmm.....
I got two beautifully written thank you notes... one from Jenni and Matthew... and the other from my sweet niece Zoe. Thank you notes nicely written are a work of art and maybe becoming a lost art too. Never thought much of those who can't say or better write a simple thank you. Yeah, call me old fashioned. It's a big deal.
Life kind of IS like a box of chocolates. You never know what you might get! Yesterday my Internet provider was addressing technical issues which meant my service was NOT WORKING. Like all of us there is so much I depend on the Internet for. My calorie/exercise tracking... God forbid I'd have to add up my calories and chart my exercise by myself without an Ap or program! Geeze... I'd need to find my calculator at the very least!
But after a few hours all was restored and life went on unhindered by a lack of connectivity.
So nothing profound today. No waxing eloquent with opinions or insights. Just remembering to take one day at a time. Breathe. Enjoy. Appreciate. Be gracious... and genuine. Move forward. Give. Embrace. Remember.
And so it goes.....

Wonderful post, really enjoyed it! Made me smile after a long long day ...
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love days like the one you're having. And I love snowball cookies even more. Do you think your mom would send me some if I asked nicely (and sent a thank you note)? You are indeed a lucky girl who knows how to enjoy the smallest details. It's an art, you know. Enjoy the simple days. Profound is overrated.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day. Must say I agree you will love your Keurig. We are on our second and I've gifted three members of the family with a Keurig. The selections seem endless!
ReplyDeleteThank you notes say so very much about people. I think it is an art...
Glad you are finding the joy in a day.
Hugs~
I LOVE the closing...made me feel tranquil and serene :) thank you.
